History

1993	Sales subsidiary is founded in Spain.
1992	TA Spiel-und Freizeit Holding GmbH, a member of the Triumph Adler group, takes over Max Zapf Puppen- und Spielwarenfabrik GmbH.
1991	Max Zapf Puppen- und Spielwarenfabrik GmbH launches BABY born®-the first doll with 'human functions. Today's subsidiary Zapf Creation (H.K.) Ltd. is founded in Hong Kong.
since 1980	Some production processes are relocated abroad, later also to the Far East.
since 1960	Max Zapf Puppen- und Spielwarenfabrik GmbH produces the first dolls made of plastic instead of celluloid. Brands and market positioning are continually consolidated and developed further.
1958	Brigitte and Willi Zapf, second generation of the Zapf family, launch into internationalizing the company by tapping into European markets.
1938–1946	Production suffers from scarcity of material due to the war.
1932	Today's Zapf Creation AG is established by Max and Rosa Zapf in Roedental, Germany, and takes up doll manufacturing.
