Zapf Creation's supervisory board appoints chief executive
- Stephan Brune to take the helm on October 1, 2008
- Thomas Pfau to leave the company on friendly terms
Roedental, September 11, 2008 - The supervisory board of Zapf Creation AG, Europe's leading manufacturer of play and functional dolls, has appointed Mr. Stephan Brune (43) as chief executive officer with effect October 1, 2008.
Brune is primarily responsible for Corporate Development, Human Resources and Investor and Public Relations. He worked for Saga Group, a globally operating manufacturer and distributor of luxury goods (jewelry, watches, accessories) based in Hong Kong, since 2003, where he held the post of Executive Vice President since 2005. In this position, he was directly responsible for the company's own distribution operations in Asia, Europe and America and was in charge of distribution partners in 50 countries. Brune previously spent many years with British consumer goods manufacturer, Reckitt Benckiser, working at locations in Germany, China, Thailand and elsewhere.
Mr. Thomas Pfau (44), Director of Marketing and Sales since August 28, 2006, is to leave the company before the end of his contract at his own request. Pfau will depart on friendly terms at a time yet to be determined in order to take up a new professional challenge outside of the toy industry. The management board also consists of Director of Finance, Mr. Jens Ulrich Keil (40).
